Point Score Rules 2006/2007

Introduction

The club conducts a point score competition at German Shepherd specialty shows for its financial members commencing with the Spring Fair weekend and concluding the following year with the last GSDL show prior to the next Spring Fair weekend. The competition covers two areas:

1. The confirmation section - points being awarded for performance in the show ring.

2. The obedience section - points being awarded for performance in the obedience ring. (Obedience results are maintained by the Chief Obedience Instructor)

The shows eligible for accumulation of points are:

• The two Newcastle & Hunter Region German Shepherd Dog Club specialty shows

• All GSDL specialty shows conducted from the Spring Fair weekend till the last GSDL specialty show of the following year, prior to the next Spring Fair weekend.

• The NSW State Breed Assessment (if held)

• The GSDCA National show (regardless of where held)

• The Main Breed Show   (regardless of where held)

• All ACTGSDA shows conducted within the relevant time frame

Conformation Section:

Puppy Dog and Puppy Bitch (Baby/Minor/Puppy classes) of the year - points being gained from the puppy classes only with a minimum grading of 'promising' is required 

Adult Dog and Adult Bitch (Junior/Intermediate/Open) of the year -  points being gained from the adult classes with a minimum grading of 'good' required.

N.B Points gained in the Puppy classes DO NOT carry over into the Adult point score if an animal moves into the Junior class in the year.

All animals must be resident within the Hunter Valley with a financial member of the Newcastle & Hunter Region German Shepherd Dog Club. Co-ownership of animals is permitted if the animal meets this criterion. Points gained before or after these criteria are not met will not be counted.

Conformation Scoring:

Points are awarded for 1^st to 10^th place

1^st -15     2^nd -12    3^rd-9    4^th-7    5^th-6   
6^th-5    7^th-4    8^th-3    9^th-2    10^th-1

Bonus points for grading and in show awards are

Excellent Grading - 7 (if in 1^st to 10^th place)

Challenge or Best Dog/Bitch - 15

Reserve Challenge or Runner up Best Dog/Bitch - 10  

The Obedience section of the club will keep their own points score results.
